This is brilliant - you've captured a strong feeling, and I feel queasy before even smelling it. The smell of chaos!? Can't say I'm not tempted to give Black Orchid a whirl!
Actually, wearing a perfume is the closest thing to being a particular kind of person without really being it. So much more than reading a book or watching a movie and feeling in the main character’s shoes. It’s not really dangerous and it gives you the exact vibe. Sometimes it’s good not being yourself, by the way; “Susan” might have learned a lot from trying on herself L’Heure Bleue (a vampire’s dream of a sunset) and Tattoo Guy from La Pausa (a still, elegant sobriety).
Riveting read! I came for some good perfume talk and walked away with a feeling that I just went through that night with you lol. Thank you for the great writing 👏

it is unlike anything else—definitely worth a sniff!
Now I have to get a bottle of this Black Orchid
I’ll decant a little sample for you <3
Bad choices make for a great story. All sparked by a scent, in a properly Proustian manner!
Thank you! I’ve been reading a lot of Proust lately—glad it’s bleeding into my work haha
